Model Airplane Servo Driver Chip

This device interfaces to a common, off-the-shelf model airplane type servo such as those found in many hobby stores. The chip is controlled by a single, TTL compatable input line. When the input is high, the servo rotates to its end stop position in one direction. When the input is low, the servo rotates to its end stop position in the other direction. The motion is very slow, steady and controlled. In a full swing, it will rotate approximately 45 degrees over 3 seconds. The advantages of this device are considerable: simplicity, low cost, compact design, availability, a wide range of available servo sizes, standardized linkage from multiple manufacturers and the servos come pre-packaged with a gear train and mounting tabs.
